Panda

I remember laughing at my mate at uni, when one late afternoon he looked up at the sky and said “What an amazing cloud effect!”, at which point we both knew one of us had been overdoing his 3D graphics programming.

But it catches up with you sooner or later, and it’s always when you’re least expecting it.

Like when you’ve just read an article about how pandas are bred in captivity. It’s really interesting that pandas often give birth to twins but they only care for one cub. And the only way to make them feed and nurture both is to keep one in an incubator for half of the time then surreptitiously swap them around.

Now if you’re thinking ‘Hmm, neat trick!’, you’re probably fine.

But if you’re thinking ‘Isn’t that exactly the way pre-emptive multitasking works?’, it’s time to take a break.
